7 Things Every Dog Mom Needs

Being a dog mom means buying dog supplies more than other girls buy their shoes.

1. The Basic "Dog Mom" Hat

This hat is pretty much iconic at this point but very necessary- nothing says "I'm a dog mom" more than a dog mom hat and some fur all over your leggings. This hat is super cute and makes getting ready extremely easy when you can throw on the hat and run out the door. I usually throw this hat on before taking Melvin and Frankie out for a walk, for early morning grocery store runs, or even when going out for a run. 2. I <3 My Mom Dog Hoodie

This dog hoodie is the cutest thing I've ever seen and James surprised me with it by buying one for the dogs. This sweater is so affordable and is another amazing amazon find (also found in the fur babies list in the amazon shop). Melvin is a high anxiety dog, so clothing is his best friend and he enjoys wearing clothes so this hoodie is perfect for him.

3. Dog Shampoo

Every dog parent needs a good dog shampoo whether or not they routinely take their dog into the groomers because you never know when your dog is going to go outside and roll around in the dirt-it can't just be our dogs who do that, right?! When we first adopted our first fur babe Melvin, we found out from our vet that he has pretty bad allergies so we wanted to make sure that we found him something that wouldn't irritate his sensitive skin. After a lot of research we found out about Vet's Best Shampoo- a company who uses plant-based ingredients in their products. We opted for the allergy itch relief shampoo (focus ingredients: oatmeal, chamomile, tea tree oil), but they have several options available on Amazon.

4. Traveler Poop Bag Holder

Real talk, it is never fun when your dog poops somewhere in public and you have no poop bags with you. Our veterinarian office changed our lives when they gave us a free poop bag holder at Frankie's first vet appointment. The poop bag holder attaches to any leash so now we are worry free when we take our dogs on a walk or in public because we always know the bags are with us-win win!!!

5. Dollar Store Carpet Cleaner

Everyone loves a good deal and I had to share since I recently discovered this find!! Arm & Hammer has a pet carpet cleaner and odor eliminator that has saved our lives. The product is in a powder form and you sprinkle it on your floors, leave it on for 15 minutes and vacuum it up and voila- you have carpet that smells amazing, and the best part is- it only cost you one dollar!! We bought in bulk for future accidents.

6. Dog Vests

Okay, this is another great thing I had no idea we needed until we bought them, dog vests. Dog vests are great because your dog will never choke themselves ever again when on a walk when they go bolting after a squirrel.

7. Personalized Dog Bandana or Tags

I am a huge fan of Shutterfly and they have a whole section on their website dedicated to pets!!! Shutterfly is always running deals and giving out coupon codes so I was able to score a free personalized dog bandana for Frankie and 50% their adorable dog tags.
